I usually get the thali here -- it's excellent, and affordable. One of my favorite local Indian spots. No waiters to deal with -- order at the counter, and the food arrives quickly. Not too crowded -- there really should be more customers, given how good the food is !
My goto place. This place has some really good food (more inclined towards homemade style cooking rather than restaurant style food).
My favorites are Makke di roti Saro da Saag, Dal Makhani, Malai Paneer, Aloo onion paratha, Methi paratha, House combo (everyday different entrée), Chole Bhature. Really nice chat snacks too.
I can't go wrong with anything I try here.
Not to forget - really good customer service.
Delicious chaat food, reasonably priced with great service. We mostly do takeout but have dined-in as well. With the myriad of chaat food-trucks in/around Sunnyvale now, I can imagine folks ignoring this place, but imo, their food is better than most food-trucks. Especially love their parathas, sprout bhel and chana poori.
The dahi papdi chaat was fresh and spicy, with snappily juicy texture. The ragda pattice had hefty shots of taste. Our friend complained about the lack of spice in his vada pav, but since I hadn’t tasted the vada pav, I can’t rate it. The service was great, and the decor looked quirky with metal craft and ornate wooden panels.
Few suggestions
Bhel puri : subtract 1 spoon of green chutney and instead of aloo bhuji add nylon sev
Bhelpuri will be👌
Sweet chutney is very tangy
A nice and cozy place to enjoy a variety of regional Indian favorite dishes, including the Bhel Thali, my personal favorite. Complete with lentils, chickpeas, raita (herbed yogurt), rice, naan, kheer (a wonderful rice-based dessert), a carrot dish with peas and tomato as well as Masala Chai tea. It was nothing short of amazing and uniquely flavored 😋. Every dish complements the next, and all of it is unfathomably delicious. This location is a little bit of a squeeze to arrive at at times (sometimes you have to circle the block), but other than that, the quality and price make this location well worth a visit. A truly devoted team of chefs and staff that deserve accolades 🏆 to their efforts providing both an inexpensive but also high-quality Indian meal in Sunnyvale, CA. I will return very soon, potentially with company. One of my top 3 places to eat Chaat in Silicon Valley and a sure-fire staple for Thali's in the Northern California area. Not only are the portions generous and the food tasty, but water is provided in pitchers tableside and the menu includes sweet drinks such as a Mango or Gulab Lassi, a nice accoutrement to a balanced meal. 👏 👏 👏
The overall experience was marred by several issues that made the visit quite disappointing.
To start, the Vada Pav I ordered was not only unappetizing, but it also contained an unwelcome surprise – a hair (you can see it in picture). Discovering this in my food was not only unhygienic but also deeply off-putting. Additionally, the Sev Puri served to our table was disappointingly cold and overly tangy, indicating a lack of attention to preparation and freshness.
Adding to the frustration, our order was completely mixed up, forcing me to venture into the kitchen to rectify the situation. It’s disheartening when a simple request for the correct order becomes a task for the customer.
The overall hygiene and attention to detail in the kitchen were concerning, and the lack of quality control was evident throughout our meal. While the ambiance was pleasant, it couldn’t salvage the overall experience. I hope the management takes these issues seriously and works towards improving the quality of both their food and service.
Good food at a reasonable price at a family run place in a central location in South Bay. Service is decent although at times it felt like the front desk guy didn’t follow what I was asking (copy of the receipt).
Would visit again.
